Eat your oats - with Chicken
I could never get myself to eat oats, unless you throw them in some chocolate chip cookies. And I’ve tried those oatmeal thingy but I just couldn’t make it to even go down my throat. But then I saw this recipe. It was interesting to find a recipe that uses rolled oats and ast the same time seemed appealing enough to eat. And it’s quite simple actually. And I love it!
Ingredients:
Boneless chicken breast
salt
pepper
*garam masala
*corriander powder
*grated parmesan cheese
flour
egg
rolled oats
How to make:
1. Cut the chicken breast into smaller sized portions. To have a more flavorful chicken, marinade the chicken breast with salt, pepper, garam masalam, corriander powder and parmesan cheese ahead of time.
2. Coat the chicken with flour, followed with beaten egg and lastly the rolled oats.
3. Deep fry until golden brown.
NOTE:
** I’m sorry I didn’t put the specific amount for each ingredients. You can adjust accordingly as just to how much you want to make.
** You can make all sorts of flavors for the chicken. Add herbs or cayenne pepper or honey; the list can go on- to make your very own original version.
** For those in watch of the calories, instead of deep frying, lightly spray a little bit of oil around the coated chicken and grill/bake in a hot & well preheated oven until golden brown.
A BIG THANKS to MAKLANG, one of the forumer in Forum.Cari.com.my for introducing the recipe. A great yummy treat that goes extremely well with a bowl of salad, coleslaw, bread, pita bread, tortilla..you name it!
Enjoy the recipe!
